Come meet Dr. Henn!
At Little Tooth Pediatric Dentistry, we are committed to caring for the entire dental needs of your child, including but not limited to Orthodontic services. An Orthodontist is a specialist dedicated to the study and treatment of improper bites (malocclusions). Early examination of your child’s teeth by an Orthodontist is critical to their care and essential to your child’s facial looks.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that your child visit an Orthodontist no later than age 7 to check their bite and determine whether they need braces. At age 7 most of your child’s molars have erupted and their dental growth is completed by age 12. Visiting an orthodontist when your child is no older than 7 is very beneficial. Here are some of the reasons why:
An Orthodontist can detect problems with jaw growth and emerging teeth before all baby teeth are removed
An Orthodontist can detect hidden problems with your child’s teeth although they may appear to be straight
Any problems with the child’s bite can indicate a future need for braces and lead to early problem detection
Early detection of problems lead to shorter treatment periods and the opportunity to guide jaw growth and permanent teeth.
